Ingredients

  • Black beans (cooked)
  • Quinoa (cooked)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Tomatoes
  • Iceberg lettuce
  • Pickles (pickled cucumbers)
  • Red onion
  • Burger buns
  • Vegan mayonnaise
  • Mustard
  • Ketchup
  • Cumin
  • Smoked paprika

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Finely chop the onion and garlic and sauté them in oil until golden brown.

  2. Step

    Mash the beans with a fork (keep them partially chunky), then mix with the quinoa, sautéed onion, breadcrumbs, cumin, and smoked paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Step

    Form the mixture into 4 patties and place them in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to firm up.

  4. Step

    Fry the patties in a pan on both sides until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  5. Step

    Prepare the special sauce by mixing the vegan mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup.

  6. Step

    Lightly toast the buns, spread them with the sauce, and layer with the lettuce, burger patty, tomatoes, pickles, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
